Integrative Psychotherapy: Bridging Body and Mind

As a licensed psychologist (OR #3155; WA #61147933) practicing in Hood River, OR, it is my goal to help you resolve problems in your mind, body, and relationships. I will work with you to improve your understanding of the source of your distress and refocus on what you value most. Depending on your preference, our work together may draw from traditional treatment approaches or utilize yoga therapy and mindfulness techniques. I enjoy guiding individuals and couples interested in finding the best way to overcome difficult relationship patterns, health-related problems, anxiety, depression, and trauma.  I combine my background in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), yoga philosophy, and person-centered therapy, to treat a range of issues for the individuals that walk through my door. My mind-body approach, along with my background as a published yoga researcher and behavioral health specialist, will help you get back on track toward improved health and wellness.

Background:

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University in Hillsboro, OR in 2018. Through my work as a clinical supervisor, behavioral health psychologist, yoga therapist, and mental health counselor I have gained experience that has equipped me to work with a wide range of client needs. In addition to my private practice, I am also a founding member of YogaX. In 2019, YogaX began as a special initiative run through Stanford University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences within the School of Medicine. Through YogaX, I conduct workshops and teacher trainings helping yoga instructors and health professionals explore the many ways yoga may be applied as an integrative form of treatment within different healthcare systems. If you are interested in learning more about our upcoming events, please visit our website at www.yogaxteam.com. In addition to teaching, I’ve published articles in the International Journal of Yoga Therapy and Advances in Mind-Body Medicine, as well as other journals addressing yoga practice, physical therapy, and alternative medicine. I have also presented on these topics at professional conferences for the American Public Health Association and the International Association of Yoga Therapist’s annual Symposium on Yoga Research.

Outside of my private practice I am also a behavioral health psychologist with Providence Family Medicine and Internal Medicine in Hood River. If you are a patient of mine through Providence, please contact me by calling our front desk at 541-387-6125 (IM) or 541-387-1300 (FM). Unfortunately, I cannot see my Providence patients through my private practice.

When I am able to get out and play, I enjoy hiking, trail running, camping, and exploring with my husband, our son, and our dog, Skillet.
